Three Sisters

pixnstories-081-copy.jpg

They look almost like identical triplets. No, they are not triplets. They are plain sisters. As if that matters to them. It doesn’t. What is important is that they must be seen together almost all the time. Or the heirloom will vanish just like that.

To Live Longer

Noodle Feast

pixnstories-078-copy.jpg

Little Brother wanted to tag along when we (Second Sister and I) decided to have a food trip along the many lines of Chinese restaurants downtown. In order not to be irked of his wailing, we agreed but telling him that he should behave. And he promised.

While inside the car, second sister and I were talking about the old saying about noodles and pastas that if you eat a lot of them, your life will be longer. Second sister told me that she had heard of it, too.

When we reached the first restaurant, and after ordering noodle feast. Little Brother hurriedly scooped the flat noodles (only) and ate them with gusto. Second sister was about to give him a ravioli but he strongly refused with head turning left and right in disagreement. “And why is that?’ I asked. ‘From now on, I’ll only eat noodles and pastas, all of them, even without the pork, the chicken, the ravioli, the squid ball and everything,” he replied and continued after I showed him a questioning look, “So that I’ll live longer and you die earlier.”

Face powder

pixnstories-074-copy.jpg

Hubby: Why are you buying face powder? You’re allergic to powder!

Wife : Just wait till we get home.

(Upon reaching home, wife sprinkled the face powder along the window sills and other corners of the house.)

Hubby: What are you doing?

Wife : The ants will not come back. They are also allergic to powder, like me!

Fanatics

pixnstories-072-copy.jpg

He never misses this religious procession. Every year during the month of May, and every feast, he patiently trods the length of roads and streets. He believes this is for God. After the feast he goes back to his own vicious habits and manners, including fooling others and taking advantage of every situation for his gain.

Making Easy Money

pixnstories-069-copy.jpg

Do you know the best way to make easy money? Here is a story.

Whenever Cristina needs or wants money, she will go to her grandmother who dotes on her very much because she is a favorite. Employed in a decent paying company and already has the economic power to buy things for herself and indulge in a few luxuries like high tech gadgets, expensive clothes, shoes and accessories, and eating out in full service restaurants, Cristina never forgets to let her grandmother pay for some of her expenses. Who should question her? She is her favorite and besides she is her grandmother. Never mind the other grandchildren. It must be her and her alone.

One will know when she needs money. She will comb her grandma’s hair or touch or hug her, which is void of sincerity actually but has to be done. She will stay in her room and talk to her about anything, taking a ride at whatever story her grandma will be telling. After all being patient has its prize.

Of course, there are times she buys pasalubong for her grandma or tokens. These, too, will be equivalent to a much larger amount of money, even ten times bigger.

Nobody does what she does in their family. It takes guts and the absence of real love and conscience.
